I want to use this website not only as a blog for my photography, but also as a way to track my progress and journey. I view myself as a beginner, and I’m learning new things every day, like when I search up what the little logo on my camera means or how to stop it from beeping every time I take a photo.
I’m currently a student based in New Jersey, and I started my photography journey in late 2024 when I took a photography class at a local art studio.
I’d had to ask my aunt to borrow her old (ish) DSLR camera, and used it to take photos every Saturday from 1-3pm. In the summer of 2025, this class was cancelled due to low enrollment. In that time, I’d recognized my passion for photography and started seeking out more opportunities to help share my work and strengthen my skills.
In a Blink is about capturing the fleeting moments of life. Like the way the wind blows, or someone smiling at the park. The name In a Blink captures how I want to photograph those perfectly imperfect moments, in the blink of an eye (or the blink of the shutter). Photography has long been a way to preserve emotion and memory, shaping how we see the world and understand ourselves. Photos are the foundation of how we view society; they make the invisible visible. I love photos for many reasons, but mainly, they’re a way for me to show how I see the world around me and create my own story, frame by frame.
“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.”
– Dorothea Lange
